"Preserving and transmitting values"
The aim of the Hungarian National Committee of ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) is to promote and assist in all possible ways the preservation, presentation as well the worthy – sustainable and sustaining – use of monuments and sites. Since the foundation of ICOMOS in 1965, ICOMOS Hungary has been involved in the elaboration of several international documents concerning restoration activities, related to the historic buildings, ensembles and sites, as well as to promote the recognition, application and the continuous development of those doctrinal texts. Its mission is accomplished in cooperation with domestic and international partner organizations, among others by organizing events, releasing publications and offering professional counselling services.
About the enhanced-renewed homepage of ICOMOS Hungary
ICOMOS Hungary runs its homepage already since many years but with time – due in part to the relative depletion caused by the technical advances in the meantime – this homepage became less and less user-friendly. This renewed homepage – thanks to the support received for this purpose from NKA (National Cultural Fund of Hungary) – has a fundamentally different appearance: already at the first glance are obvious the radically new, user-friendly qualities of this enhanced solution. Another important step in content development is the introduction of bilingualism. The English language content is partly accessible at the start of functioning of the new website and partly becomes fully available gradually.
